About Me:

My name is Shanaaz and I live in Cape Town South Africa. I have two wonderful children, age 16 and 12 years from my first marriage. I met my fiance a long time ago, but we only started dating 28 June 2007. He proposed to me while on holiday in Venice on 5 August 2007. Our wedding date is 5 January 2008.

Favorite Music:

I enjoy listening to any kind of music depending on the mood I'm in. I love Luther Wandross, but I also enjoy R&B, house music, jazz etc.

Favorite TV Shows:

I enjoy comedies like, Everybody loves Raymond, Two and a half Men, My Family and good drama movies. Some reality shows keep me entertained and I use it as a stress reliever.

Books:

I love Dalai Lama books, spiritual books and self-help books

Hobbies:

My hobbies are interior decor, event planning, working out in gym, shopping, and spending quality time with my children and my soon to be husband.

Likes:

I like all nice things - fashion, house decor, etc. I like entertaining at home and socialising with good friends.

Dislikes:

I dislike rude, arrogant, judgmental, opinionated and negative people.

I'm glad that things are going well with your planning. I agree with the girls' dresses. I've decided that they must decide on a style that suits them as long as they stick to the colour.
My wedding theme is Black and White, and the guests' dress attire is also black and white - black dress suits for the men, and white formal dress for the ladies.
We are very lucky in our plans because of our friends and his family. My family is not involved in the wedding at all. I'm only inviting them with the rest of the guest list. Reason being is that because I'm moslem and my fiance is white, Hungarian - even though he converted to Moslem, they are judgmental and opinionated, which I don't need. I don't attract negative people or any form of negativity into my life. My dad has passed on, and my mom has advanced alzheimer's in are living with my brother, 15'000 kilometers away.

We have a very good support of friends, from both sides, and they are all offering their help and support with the planning of our wedding. My fiance's one friend is a world-class profession baker in one of the top 5 star hotels and has offered us the wedding cake. Another one of his friends, own a digital graphic agency, and has offered us the invitations etc. Another one of his friends, offered us the wedding cars. He has a friend that is a very good singer, who will be singing at the wedding and I have a friend that is a DJ. One of my friends owns a bridal and decor shop and has offered to decorate the venue for me, including the table centre pieces and all the flower arrangements.
Because of the mix race and culture, our wedding ceremony will take place the day before the wedding reception. The first ceremony is on 4 January, at the Magistrates Court at 11h30, and then at 14h30 with the Moslem Priest. Both ceremonies will be private with only his mom, my two kids and two witnesses. I have two kids from my first marriage (age 16 an d 12years). My fiance has never been married and no kids. He is a gift send from heaven and is my perfect partner in every way, and my kids loves him and he loves them - as my son says, "he is like a second father to me".

Wow! Venice? What a guy! He is definatly a keeper! LOL. My fiance and I are both from Texas and we love living here. But Africa seems like a wonderful place. It must be a blast living there.

It really sounds like you have a lot planned already with the wedding. Its good that you already have so much done. I have been planning my wedding for a year now and I STILL have so much to do! We still have to find a bakery, Dj, and so much more!

Dont worry about the dresses. Im sure everything will fall into place. The only regret I have with my girls is that I wish I would have let them chose their own style. I did the same dress for all 3 girls and it just doesnt look right for all of them. If I could give you any advice at all, it would be pick one color and let them find chose their own style of dress. You should still have final say so but you still want your girls to feel comfortable! Anyways, good luck and keep in touch!
